Here are some guides on where to apply your essential oils 🙃

some good general rules of thumb are:

• to apply them to the area you’re hoping to help- i.e. tummy for tummygize, chest/sinuses for snifflease, directly on muscle for panaway, temples for headache relief with peppermint.
• oils that you want to continue to get benefits from such as stress away or valor can be applied to wrists, behind ears, back of neck or on diffuser jewelry.
• oils that you want to go straight to your system quickly such as thieves to boost immunity or tranquil for sleep can be applied to the bottoms of your feet.
• hormone oils like pro+ and endoflex can be applied to your forearms or inner ankles.
• check out the reflexology points on the bottoms of your feet for other options on where to apply oils to correspond to certain parts of the body!

When applying an oil topically, you usually will want to use a carrier oil. It helps to disperse the oil, allows for safer application on the skin, and does not take away from its’ effectiveness. You will occasionally see people who have been using oils for awhile who just pop a roller top on their favorite oils and apply them that way- if you feel like you’re ready to do this or have questions, please reach out! When using carrier oils, I mainly use YL’s V6, fractionated coconut oil, or jojoba oil (for face). Below is a great reference graphic on carrier oils:

APPLYING OILS TOPICALLY- WHY DO WE SUGGEST THE BOTTOMS OF OUR FEET?

One area of the body that is perfect for applying essential oils is the feet. Here are 3 reasons why you should be applying essential oils to your feet!

1) Less Sensitive The skin on the soles of the feet is less sensitive than the rest of the body, which makes it a great place to try out essential oils. Using diluted essential oils on the bottom of the feet allows them to be absorbed into the body with less chance of a reaction. This is also the perfect location for using “hot” essential oils. Hot essential oils are oils that are known to cause sensitivity in some people. These include citrus essential oils, oregano, and peppermint.

2) Reflexology It is suggested that every nerve line in the body ends in your feet. Reflexologists believe that areas on the feet correspond to the body’s organs and systems. The left foot corresponds to the left side of the body and all of the organs and valves while the right foot corresponds to the right side of the body. For example, since the liver is on the right side of the body, its reflex point is found on the right foot. By including essential oils into the art of reflexology for the feet, you may increase the benefits. It may also allow you to target certain areas of the body just by applying them to the feet.

3) Quicker Absorption and Delivery The pores on the feet are thicker than pores elsewhere on the body. This allows the essential oils to be absorbed more quickly and reach the bloodstream faster. Also, the feet and hands do not have sebaceous glands. Sebum is an oily substance that covers the body and helps waterproof and lubricate the skin. Because the feet and hands are free of it, better absorption is achieved."
